|
|
I just updated to JS 1.4 and now Ableton Live 4.1.4 won't open. On startup it scans the VST folder unusually slowly goes past JS and stops on Waves and then gives me an error saying it has to close.
I tried removing the Jamstix folder and the Waves folder from the Live VST folder but it didn't help.
Did this update somehow affect Live or other VST's (Waves) or something?
All previous updates worked fine. Is there a way to reverse whatever the update did? |

We'll check into it. What version of Jamstix did you run before? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

It works fine here. Please try restarting your machine. If it still fails, please send us the rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix folder.
Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I was running 1.32. I tried restarting. Will try again. I'm wondering if it is somehow affecting Waves because thats where the scan stops? |

Here's a link to the 1.32 DLL but send me the rzdlog.txt file to support @ rayzoon.com before you try this. I suggest you rename your current DLL to 'jamstix.14' so you can switch back easily.

| I sent the rdzlog file. Tried restarting but still crashing. Also, I don't know if its relevant but when I ran the update it asked me to confirm it only would instal in one place or something like that and I said "yes." The other updates didn't ask me this question |

Previously the updaters would always bring up the DLL update prompt. Since many users only use the default DLL and do not manually place copies in other places, we made it optional in the 1.4 updater.
Does the 1.32 DLL load for you?
Also, is there any way you could temporarily rename the folder the Waves plugins are in so Live doesn't load them?
Thanks for your help in tracking this one down! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Working now! - Thanks for your speedy support.
I took the Waves and Jamstix files out of the VST folder. Live then was able to start. I added back the Waves file and it started again. Then I added the Jamstix with the 1.32 DLL and all was still good. I then changed to the 1.4 DLL and it now works!
