That is really odd, I'm using it a lot with Sonar 4.0.2 PE.
Which VST adapter are you using and describe the crash and exactly when it happens.
Thanks

Ralph,
I have Sonar 4.02 and using .99m. I got a weird reaction from wrapping with Directixer 2.5. I can't see the gui. All I see is the top grey bar with with the rhythm dropbox.
Could you post your Directixer settings for Jamstix (i.e., what boxes you check off in the Directixer properties for the plugin). Also maybe your setting for Cake's VST adaptor as well.
If you've already posted this somewhere, please give a link.
Thanks for your help - this could be a really cool product form. I am now separated by a continent (east coast/west coast) from my old band drummer and would like to do a solo work. However, I hate programming drums!
Best,
urock
PS - Jamstix comes up fine in Tracktion |

The GUI issue is a know DirectiXer problem. Open DirectiXer, go to the Jamstix entry and open its properties. Under options, check 'Alternate Window Sizing Method' and the GUI will show up.
Let me know if it works. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Cakewalk VST will work right out of the box but the tooltips in Jamstix will flash too quickly to be read. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm using the Cakewalk VST adapter. When I try to add jamstix to a track,it wont open at all-I just get an error box "Sonar has encountered a problem and needs to close.Sorry for any inconvenience".
Maybe settings in the VSt adapter need to be changed? |

Ralph,
Thanks for the Directixer tip - the GUI shows up fine now and I am beginning my experiments in Sonar with jamstix.
I'm used to working with a drummer who did not use a click track when recording - therefore there would be minor some speed up /slow down, but it would be organic and fine. My timing is solid but not perfect.
The easiest way for me to record drums for my songs would be for me to plug in my guitar, play and have jamstix follow my not perfect but good enough timing. Is this how Jamstix is meant to be used or does it need a click track equivalent?
Best,
urock
P.S. - No offense to fxpansion but I've always liked Directixer more - I wish Cakewalk would have bought Directixer instead of the fxpanson one so that updates would be ensured. |

Here are the settings in VST adapter that work for me (they are the defaults):

Since it works fine in Tracktion for you, your Jamstix installation seems to be sound. I'd recommend upgrading to Sonar 4.0.2 and, if that doesn't help, try DirectiXer. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Jamstix is always synched to the host sequencer so you must play in synch with the sequencers tempo. Alternatively, you can record your guitar first and then try to use Sonar's timing extraction function to get a matching tempo track (this never really worked for me). If you then let Jamstix jam with your track, it will follow the extracted timing changes. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanx Ralph, but still no go.FWIW,my defaults were a bit different (force stereo was selected) but I changed to match yours and it still crashes.
I do have 4.02,BTW.
I'll try the demo of Directixer... |

You can also send me your jamstix.ini to support@rayzoon.com in case there's a setup issue. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
