Hello. I have been trying out the demo version and have been having trouble initiating Kompakt within Jamstix. I thought this might have fallen under the Kontakt category but the sticky thread is empty. Feel free to relocte this post if necessary.
FWIW, I have had no trouble getting things up and running in my host using the JS internal sounds. I have also been able to load up soundfonts within JS through the free Sfz VST soundfont player.
The problem:
I load the Kompakt VST dll through the jamstix Mapping window. The Kompakt interface appears and I can load in a drum kit as expected. But as soon as I hit play or record in HS the computer locks up. I can kill HS through the task manager but it takes long time (2-3 minutes) before I get back to the desktop.
My specs:
Home Studio V2
Cakewalk VST Adapter 4.4.0
P4 2.8GHz
512 Gb Ram
Win XP sp2
Could this be a memory issue? I know there are easy work arounds (directiXer, or exporting midi file) but I am curious what the issue might be with Kompakt.
Thanks in advance from a soon-to-be customer. |

This is most likely an output number problem. If Jamstix has less outputs then the sub-hosted VSTi then you run into crashes. Please try selecting 8 outputs in the Jamstix mapping tab. After that, close your project so Jamstix is closed and flushed or the change won't take effect. Now try a new project with Jamstix and Kompakt. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just to close the loop... the number of outputs was indeed the issue. I increased the number to 8 and loaded Kompakt successfully.
Many thanks! |
