Just wanted to say the product looks fantastic and I have pre-ordered. This will be my front end for DFHS & BFD from now on.
Also wanted to stress the importance of additional groove and fill downloads. Toontrack have not released any midi files of real use, and BFD has had some (with more on the way) but they are still not frequnt enough.
I will be looking to set Jamstix up and let it jam to my audio tracks for two or three takes, record the midi and then comp together the best parts and tweak to suit the track. So the more grooves & fills the better.
Looking forward to the 24th....this thing looks great.....and is sooooooo needed ! |

I completely agree. Although we don't want to appear greedy (hehehe), new rhythms, fills, etc. will really keep the blood pumping through this amazing software.
I would also like to see some dedicated hihat and cymbal rhythms created- that are more complex than those which accompany the provided rhythms. That's probably my weakest drumtrack creation area, really engaging hihat wizardry. I just can't do it.

We'll keep 'em coming and we're also likely to facilitate user rhythm exchange on our site in the future.

Have you played around with the hihat panel in the rhythm tab? Just pick a rhythm you like and then select a mix of 2x16 and 3let-16 in the + column, open up the 2x and 3lets sliders and right-click drag on the + column cells to modify the velocity a bit. This should give you quite engaging HH patterns. Naturally this is limited but it was designed for easy-of-use. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I was wondering if anyone else was thinking this way...
We'll lose the ability to automate the main velocity slider (costing us quirks like dropping a sidestick at lower settings) but gain the ability to choose the best Jamstix fills and accents for a particular song.
I actually find that for some songs, a new pattern makes a kind of interesting 1 bar fill. Like, for instance, you have 1 pattern play for 3 bars, but of course it doesn't seem repetitious because of accents and hat variations... then for bar 4 you have a new pattern in the same style. It creates a cool vibe that I would never have thought to program.
Love it. _________________ Rock softly and carry a big stick. Wait, what am I saying? Don't Rock softly. - Rock Churchill |

You could also add MIDI automation and throw a velocity envelope on the Jamstix track and then just draw the velocity as needed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
