I've made a custom fill that looks like this:

[General]
ID=7000001
Type=Fill

[Events]
Tom4@0=0,0,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10
Tom4@6=0,6,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10
China@12=0,12,0,15,0,127,2,3,-10

And the underlying rhythm it's "filling" over has kicks on the first two eight notes (exactly where the toms are). I noticed after exporting parts to .wav that the kicks under the toms are not playing. I tried modifying the accent file to look like (everything the same with addition of two kick events):

[General]
ID=7000001
Type=Fill

[Events]
Kick@0=0,0,0,1,0,127,1,0,-10
Tom4@0=0,0,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10
Kick@6=0,6,0,1,0,127,1,0,-10
Tom4@6=0,6,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10
China@12=0,12,0,15,0,127,2,3,-10

but the kicks will still not play along with those toms. Can you tell me if I've done something wrong or why this is working out this way? I'd really like to have kicks on those two beats Smile

Thanks for making a product so cool that I even have this "problem" to worry about in the first place!

The problem is that you've named various events the same name. Example:

Tom 4 in:

Tom4@0=0,0,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10
Tom4@6=0,6,0,19,0,127,2,3,-10

Jamstix will only use one event in a RAF if they are named the same. If you make all names unique your problem should be gone.

But isn't the name of each event Tom4@0 and Tom4@6 so they are named two different things? Both tom hits do play. In fact, I modeled this naming convention after "factory" jamstix accent files like "another thought.raf" which has (note the number of repetitions of names like "kick@#, snare@#, tom@#):

[events from your "another thought.raf"]
Kick@0=0,0,0,1,0,127,1,1,-10
HiHat Closed@0=0,0,0,5,0,49,3,3,-10
Snare@3=0,3,0,2,0,20,2,2,-10
Kick@6=0,6,0,1,0,127,1,1,-10
HiHat Closed@6=0,6,0,5,0,60,3,3,-10
Snare@9=0,9,0,2,0,29,2,2,-10
HiHat Closed@12=0,12,0,5,0,109,3,3,-10
Snare@15=0,15,0,2,0,35,3,3,-10
Snare Bounce@18=0,18,0,2,0,110,2,2,-10
Snare Bounce@21=0,21,0,2,0,90,2,2,-10
Snare@27=0,27,0,2,0,80,3,2,-10
Tom@30=0,30,0,18,2,95,3,2,-10
Snare@30=0,30,0,2,0,25,3,2,-10
Tom@33=0,33,0,16,3,85,3,2,-10
Tom@36=0,36,0,18,2,75,3,2,-10
Tom@39=0,39,0,18,2,90,3,2,-10
Snare@42=0,42,0,2,0,30,3,2,-10
Kick@45=0,45,0,1,0,95,1,1,-10

Okay, here's why this is happening: Jamstix has an exclusion rule where it won't play kick and toms at the same time if the toms come from a RAF file.

The primary reason is that in MOST situations you do not want kick and tom to muddle together like this. So the rule nicely filters this out even if the accent is laid over a kick-heavy groove.

However, I can see how you want to be able to overrule this for specific purposes. The next beta will allow kicks and toms at the same time if the kick is specified in the RAF file (just as you did in your second RAF).

Hope this helps!

That would be a wonderful solution. Working in the software industry myself, I really enjoy seeing how the size and structure of your shop allows you to interact directly with the end users and try out suggestions and act on feedback with such speed. I know you hear it all the time, but thanks again for this wonderful plugin!

Beta X6-6 implements this fix so your second RAF should play just fine with it.
