I imported a MIDI drum sequence in 12/8. Half of the first bar is above. There are three beats that have 16th note triplets of snare/high tom/floor tom [0/+24/+48]. Jamstix plays it if I lower the tempo, but at full speed it shows the red X on the floor tom and the message at the bottom of the screen about transition time.
I understand the intent of the human element in Jamstix, so no drummers with 4 arms, but I know this sequence is playable. I'm using Reaper, and the BPM is 224 using a quarter note. I tried to see if changing it to 150 using a dotted quarter would make a difference (didn't figure it would), but that's not an option.
Is there something I can do to make it playable? |

1) Options>General Options>Enable Limb Controls>disable.
or
2) Adjust the "Arm Speed" and "Arm Delay" controls.
or
3) Try using Machine as the drummer model for that Song Part.
Give those a try and see if one helps. |

Disabling limb controls took care of it. Thanks.
It's been a while since I've used Jamstix, and it being so full of different options I felt like I was back at square one in learning how to use it.
I'm going to look into the arms speed & delay settings as well, because I know this pattern is playable. It's the drum intro to Iron Maiden's "Where Eagles Dare" if anyone wants to look it up and see what it sounds like. |
