Hi, can't get my ending to sound.
It's a kick and splash but both are crossed out. The text says it's because fills are muted; but if it's talking about the option in the Song Menu, they're not. It plays if I loop just that bar (in the project) but not if I run into it as normal. What's going on?
Cheers
[Edit] It's a bit more random than that. Sometimes it just starts, sometimes just stops, even if the bar's locked! |

hi
are you saying that in the Groove Window, those parts are crossed out and this bar has a fill? if so, is 'No Groove' checked in the Fill Window?

Hi
In your DAW for that 2nd to last measure (Outro 3 beats) which looks to be 3/4, in your DAW do you have a 3/4 Time Signature for just that 3 Beat measure then a 4/4 Time Signature for the 4/4 Ending?
If not, maybe some sync issue is happening. Jamstix is a drummer after all and they tend to need extra attention (e.g. being put in their place)
Is everything prior to the 3/4 measure 4/4?

I forgot to ask about the enable Time Sig Changes Options
24.1 Changing Time Signatures
If your song uses time signature changes, you need to do the following:
enable ‘Time Sig Changes’ in the Options screen
click on every part length and select the proper time signature for each part
If the time signature changes in your host are not aligned with the ones specified for the parts then you may encounter synch problems.
Ideally, you wouldn’t have to tell Jamstix your time signatures as it can see them via the VST interface but unfortunately the song position information of VST is not designed to handle time signature changes and in order to provide a tight synch to the host we require you to set each part manually. |

I couldn't possibly comment All the drummers I've known have been fine upstanding citizens, paragons of virtue and always know when to shut up!
Aaanyway...
'Outro 3 beats' is indeed 3/4; the surrounding bars are 4/4. I can't get that message about fills to re-appear, or remember when it appeared in the first place. But I have just noticed that the sig change in JS is not reflected in the host as I didn't deem it necessary. The song ends on beat 4 so maybe I'm better off just programming a bar of 4/4 by hand. |

JS manual notes:
"If the time signature changes in your host are not aligned with the ones specified for the parts then you may encounter synch problems."
So it is required. I use Reaper and adding a Time Sig is a snap.
If you can try that first, I would like to know if that helps.
BTW, I would have done the way you just described with "programming a bar of 4/4 by hand" but the way you did it should work IME.

Thanks, I'll try the sig track in the daw but I don't know when. My toaster exploded in a flash of white light the other day and seems to have taken out the puter. Fortunately, a new one has been on the shopping list for a while... |

I hate to hear that. I plan to build a new DAW PC soon and DO NOT look forward to getting everything up and going.

My suggestion
Be careful and research this well. I thought splashing top cash on a Dell XPS8940 a couple years ago was best thing for my music. But I’ve had nothing but problems. Even now after ditching the nvidia graphics card and deleting several drivers the puter still splutters, crackles and slows.
I found out that Dell makes their own motherboards and they are not optimised for music. Also other components such as power supply are also non standard which makes upgrading difficult.
Better to build your own imo. I would now knowing how much time I’ve spent on these problems. There’s lots of stuff on the web to help with music PCs |

Thanks for your concern but you can relax. I splashed out on a Scan 3XS system. Then I made the mistake of checking out OneDrive. Be warned! But back to normal now, normal now being several mach numbers beyond what I'm used to
Oh yeah, and you've all gone and got yourselves surge protectors, haven't you! |
