|
|
I have Jamstix Ultimate, which, I believe includes everything. However I'm unable to find how to use brushes.
I'm using a country ballad style and tried to change a snare to snare brushing. On playback the snare had a red cross through it.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

| I don't know what Kit you are using but the Brushes kit in the Jazz category is the only kit that loads brush samples by default. If you are using a different kit, you'll have to load the brush articulations in the Kit Editor manually. |

Thanks Azimuth.
How would I load brush articulations manually? I'd be grateful for a step-by-step for this.
Thanks. |

Hi CM,
1) Open the Kit window.
2) In the KIT PIECE menu (bottom left) choose "Snare".
3) In the ARTICULATION menu (next to Kit Piece) choose "Brushing".
4) Click the "<click here to load a sound>" prompt.
5) In the window that opens, check the "FILTER" box at the bottom.
6) Double click sample choice presented or click the sample choice and hit the
"Load" button.
7) Repeat steps 3-6 for the "Brush Muted" articulation.
Use the "DAMPEN" control to vary the length of the Snare brush sweeps.
Hope this helps. |

Well ...
After following your (Azmuth) steps I had a perfect result for my ballad. The brushes sound great and, using the 'power' dial gave me all the control I needed to get the balance perfect.
Jamstix continues to amaze me, it's just outstanding.
The only thing left for me to sort with this is that having saved my project, I then reopened it but had lost my customised brushes. For some reason this wasn't saved with my project.
Thanks again for all your help |

| After you load the Brush samples to whatever kit you are using, use the "Save" button in the Kit window to save your customized kit with a new name. Then save your DAW project or the Jamstix song and the modified kit will load along with the project. (in Reaper anyway) |

| Azimuth, I just want to thank you for being such an outstanding and genuinely helpful asset to these forums. I've got everything Ralph has programmed and use Jamstix like religion but I still learn something from every one of your posts. Thank you. |

| Thanks Br_ndo, a lot of what I pass along is just things others in the forum have pointed out in the past that somehow found a storage slot in my Brain or things I have run across using this amazing software myself. This forum was always one of the friendliest on the net and helped me out plenty of times, so i just try to return the favor when I can. |

| I insist, I am tired of repeating it: I vote for Azimuth for mega galactic Emperor of the known, unknown and meta Universe and period. Any objections will be answered very unkindly. |

Knopf,
Thank you for your vote of confidence however, the universe is a fairly well balanced entity at this point in time, so let's not push our luck. LOL |
