Been going through all the options in Jamstix but cannot see how to add a crash to any kit on top of the existing 4 crashes. Is the brain limited to 4 crashes?

Obviously there are options for extra splashes and china cymbals, but, I'm using Superior Drummer with EZX Metal Machine add on pack, which has 6 crash cymbals.

Also, is it possible to re-configure the cymbal positions so that they marry with Superior Drummer; for example, the naming in SD is clockwise (cymbal 1 on the left, then each additional cymbal being added left to right, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.); whereas with Jamstix, cymbal 1 is on the left, cymbal 2 on the right, while cymbal 4 is in the 12 O'clock position.

Meanwhile, just to say, I've been on quite a long break from Jamstix, but happy to come back and get stuck in as it's doing a much better job handling a 9/8 set of patterns. Very Happy

Welcome back. Yes and no.

Yes because the Brain is still going to compose hits on the new kit pieces the same way it would for the original kit piece. The kit is also still limited to the original number of kit pieces.

No because you can edit any of the kit .j2k files in a text editor and change any kit piece to any other type of kit piece e.g. swap all China cymbals with Crash cymbals. I hope this makes sense.

The order of the cymbals I'm not sure about, I've never tried to do that.
