It looks like you might have found a system that works for you already. The one thing I would add is if you want Jamstix to play back what you have hand-programmed precisely is to use "Machine" as your Player model. Any other Player is going to add/subtract/modify what you have programmed since that is what they are designed to do. The disadvantage with "Machine" is that you will not get any timing/power variations that the Player models offer, but if you are programming those yourself this isn't an issue.

I don't know if this will help you achieve what you are looking to do but thought it might be something helpful.

Totally correct, I just found this out last night.

So now I know how to take a midi clip, embellish it or not. That is perfect for my needs.

For me, JS is "too busy", I have much more slowly evolving beats. But the subtleties of JS "pocket" is amazing for that purpose...among many other features.

If you are not using the Free version of Jamstix you could "extract" Charlie's "Simplifier" control to any other Player you are using. It will calm down any of the other Players when used. Just a thought.

Charlie's "Simplifier" is really the B-Slap for the overzealous drummer Smile

I use it ALOT.

Very useful!
