How do I do this when using JS4 Beta?

I tried to enter a cymbal choke at the beat I want, but I get no sound.

Then I tried to put a cymbal sound with the cymbal choke after it. This would seem to be the way to do it. That way you can determine when the choke happens.

But neither method works. The cymbal just keeps on cymbal-ing!!! : )

I haven't done this in ages but did you put the choke on other hand?

BTW I have 4.5.0 BETA 1.

Yes the cymbal choke has to be on the opposite limb after the cymbal hit. We don't have a Tommy Aldridge model yet. LOL He's the only Drummer I've ever seen do same hand chokes. You can also use the -24th thru +24th timing adjustments to further adjust the length of time before the choke occurs.

This is a screen shot of a self (brain) generated bar in a song that I am doing.

Is this ghost chokes I am seeing?

Or is there some other reason that the brain would generate this?

The Snare, Choke and Kick events are locked. The Brain can't change or delete them.

Not understanding you here AZ. How are they locked. By default? User Locked?
Does the Brain lock them?

I don't know how they were locked. But they are highlighted red showing they're locked so the brain can't change them. The only way I know that events can be automatically locked is if an event is manually entered with Bar>Edit>Auto-Lock Manually Created Events enabled.

You could right click the song part in the Song Sheet and choose Locking>Unlock All Events. There is also Song>Global Actions>Unlock All Events which will do your whole song in one shot.

Ok, now I understand. I didn't add those chokes. Not knowing it anyway!! LOL

And I do have it setup to where when I place notes on the Bar Grid they get locked. So I might have done something that I didn't realize, and that added them thus locking them.

Thanks AZ
