hello good people of JS land
is there any way i can improve the sound of JS toms? I really like how the JS cymbal sound. its better than SSD5 cymbals. usually i just use midi only in JS and route the midi into SSD5. but i lose the sweet JS cymbal sound. I try removing the cymbals in SSD5 and all JS drum midi i send to SSD5. So i get JS sweet cymbal sound and all drum in SSD5. I liked that combination.
Only, i think, why cant i get good sound with JS toms (especially floor tom). I bought JS Ultimate recently but did not find I any good tom sound. Any suggestion? Adjust tom EQ? Tom Compression? |

First thing I would do is to audition all of the different Kit's Toms by loading each Kit one at a time and listening to them. Different Mixer settings load with each different Kit and will vary the sound quite a bit. There are over 200 Kits in the Ultimate Edition so I doubt that you couldn't find something that is to your liking. You can vary the sound greatly with the Mixer controls and Kit Editor controls also.
If not, just stick with your original plan and create a hybrid SSD/Jamstix Kit and save it for later use. |
