I've had Jamstix for a while but decided to dig in a little deeper based on some reviews/references. A lot of music I work with is in time signatures other than 4/4. I see where Jamstix picks up the time signature from my DAW (Cakewalk), but not finding how to get an authentic feel for these time signatures - 12/8, 5/4, 6/8. Any suggestions?

Song examples:
5/4 - Take Five (Dave Brubeck)
12/8 - Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears)
6/8 - most any Celtic jig

BTW, I'm running 4.4.6 with XL Pak, Jamcussion, and have the Metal, Bonzo, AI, and OddTime expansions.

I've been experimenting a bit more, and think I've found one "secret". I've been using the Build screen just to test out the basic song form with different styles. If I change meter in the DAW and hit "Create Song", it is still keeping the previous meter. I have to go to the Song dropdown and choose "Reset Song" for it to recognize the new meter and give it an appropriate feel. So sounding pretty good now in 6/8 and 12/8.

I'd still like any input on getting a "Take Five" style 5/4 pattern going - which essentially sounds to me like a 3 beat waltz followed by a strong 4 and 5.

Since you have 'OddTime', try using the groove weight preset "5-4th Take Five" with the 'Odd Time' style.
