Ralph, I know we ask and expect a lot from you, but this is probably not only for us customers and fans, but it will be of most benefit to you and Rayzoon.

PLEASE: update/recode Jamstix 4 to run "native" Audio Unit in M1 Mac/Logic Pro/Big Sur! [it doesn't load despite being recognized in Logic Pro]

The future of apple, and indeed, the future of PCs,desktops, laptops, and the entire landscape of the computer world is going to changed based on apple's entry into the super M1 microchip silicon processors, that I think Rayzoon would be ahead of the curve if they were compatible

the Only VST to be compatible through Rosetta 2 is Steven Slate Digital and it runs/works great; but Rayzoon Jamstix is the best drummer/virtual drum program there is, and I want to be able to have it optimized for m1 - before everyone else like Toontrack, FXpansion, XLN, AiR, and the couple other drum vsts gets to it because they are bigger and have more resources- but they don't have the genius of Ralph!

so please Ralph, make that 2021's priority - M1 native optimization above ALL other updates (especially windows, everything with windows runs perfectly, so don't listen to anyone complaining about that, its them/their machine lol)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Seconded.

I rely on Jamstix for my workflow, and it barely runs now in the current version of Studio One. I have to render it to stems in order to get jitter free playback. I have to upgrade my Mac soon and M1 support for Jamstix is the main thing holding me back.

I have had mixed results on M1 Mac mini using Studio One 4 but do have it working:

- Using Jamstix drum samples causes massive CPU spikes using both VST and AU versions.
- Jamstix AU won't pass MIDI to another instrument.
- Jamstix VST works as expected with no CPU spikes when passing MIDI only to Steven Slate 4.

Hope that helps.

At least studio one loads the GUI, but Jamstix and XLN neither load the boot Cubase or Logic GUI, which is a shame because I use those two most...

At least Steven slate does seem to work flawlessly, I don’t know how much extra resources it uses going through Rosetta 2 but it is a small VST to begin with

So yes, I am using SSD4 until ralph gets this up and running for Mac m1

Ya see? It's startin'

If Jamstix 4 doesn't get an update for Big Sur/M1, can we talk Ralph? If its not happening?

Gotta chime in...

I've got an M1 Mac Mini, and the way things are going with Windows these days, I hate to say it.... I'm pretty much falling off the fence to the Mac side I think.

The apparent refusal to even comment on the future of Mac support is extremely disturbing. As of next week, Jamstix Mac support will be three entire operating system versions out of date - yet the product is still for sale. That's like saying they only support Windows 7 and nothing later!

Hands down Jamstix is the best plugin of its type but is on the verge of becoming useless to Mac users. You can no longer buy a Mac that it supports - and haven't been able to for a couple of years now.

If it's dead then please just tell us - out of courtesy if nothing else.

I haven't done it yet (been waiting for any soft of acknowledgment) but I'm ready to do the $299 chargeback. Don't want to as all of the YouTube videos are very promising, but FFS this was a ton of money for absolutely nothing.

As I posted in this thread:

http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8484

"From the website.. "The macOS version of Jamstix 4 is currently in Beta and only accessible to paid customers. The free version will be released as soon as the Beta phase is over."

There was no way to find out that it doesn't work until you spend $."

Combine this with zero response from the dev...

If you’ve recently bought Jamstix for Mac you wasted your money. If you can get a refund do it now.

It is, in principle, excellent software but it is being sold under false pretenses because it will not run on any Mac sold in the past couple of years.

I’m not sure which country’s consumer law covers this software but where I live Rayzoon could be prosecuted for blatant misrepresentation with fines that would probably bankrupt it.

A few years ago Ray decided to expand the product to support the Mac. He clearly had no idea what he was taking on and has subsequently failed miserably. I suspect he just doesn’t have the resources to do the job.

I could forgive that if he had the guts to admit it but he apparently does not. We have been ignored for several years now and he sees no reason to defend his failure.

He has my money and, unfortunately, I can’t get it back. If you can get yours back then do so immediately! The fact that he is still willing to sell the Mac version is a disgrace.

Initiated Paypal dispute. Really didn't want to but like I mentioned, that's a hell of a lot of money for something that has never once worked and all indications are it will never be supported.

Ty for everyone's help!
