No, you want that to be enabled. I've never experienced what you've described here personally.
Jamstix saves it's own revision history which is configured in Options so you won't lose anything by not saving the Reaper project file. Make sure however that you name and save your song in Jamstix or else you'll wind up with a revision folder full of files named MY SONG (some long number here). I'm not really sure what flags the Reaper project as dirty but it has never caused any issue for me. |

Another minor question, I've noticed that if I load a project with Jamstix on it and recompose/change some things, Reaper doesn't show that anything has been changed and doesn't prompt me on exit to save. It's not an issue at all because I save manually all the time, but I'm just curious about this. I assume the changes don't get saved if I don't save? Maybe Reaper only knows that something saveworthy has changed if something in a plugin is changed that shows up on the envelopes? I guess what I'm asking if this is something that the VST reports to the host somehow or if it's just intended behaviour. Whichever it is it is very minor, like I said.
Funnily enough, if I close the Jamstix window that counts as a modification apparently, although arguably it's a smaller issue.[/quote]
I also found that Reaper is doing something complicated regarding what it autosaves and what it does not. I have learned to keep saving the Song, just to make sure. I wonder if this happens in other DAWs - I'm gathering from reading threads here (and the manual) that normally Jamstix is quite capable of re-loading where a person leaves off (assuming they save the Jamstix-containing DAW project successfully) |
