This might be a known issue but I have not seen it until today.

I am editing MIDI KEYs to work with a 3rd party sample pack. I have a couple MIDI monitor VSTs loaded to monitor what MIDI info JS is sending.

When I change the MIDI KEY on a kit piece, the MIDI monitors show Channel 2 even though the Channel is set to 1. Now if I play a JS song by hitting Play in Reaper, the correct channel is shown. While the song was playing I changed the MIDI Channel and those changes were reflected in the MIDI Monitors.

I would like this to work so that when I am doing this type of stuff, I can manually trigger the event by clicking on the Kit piece and confirming the sound I want to hear is triggering.

I am pretty sure this used to work. Maybe there is a setting I missed?

I also made sure that the Kit was configured to Send to MIDI Channel>Channel #1. BTW, it would a good idea to have a checkmark or some indicator that shows which Channel is selected.

that when I change the MIDI KEY, I see the notes change on the Monitors but when I click the kit piece, I see no JS MIDI output.

i am using a copy of the Rock - Punchy kit if that matters.

i just loaded the song into JS 3 and I see the correct MIDI Channel. also i can click the kit piece and see the correct MIDI info.

Hey Brian,

This sounds similar to an issue I just reported to Ralph the other day regarding changing midi assignments of Kit pieces. Ralph said it's possibly going to be addressed in a planned December update. I would still send an email to support just to make sure, in case it's not related.
