Hi, If I turn the drums down via the main volume control in the mixer area to get a sensible volume in my DAW some of the drum articulations disappear,
also when turning the whole kit down via the master fader the sounds change quite dramatically..
is there a solution to this?
bit strange... Sad

It sounds like you are using the "Power" knob (in the upper left) as the mixer master level (the very narrow channel in the mixer section labeled "MST").
I checked it here and the "MST" mixer channel reduces the overall level of Jamstix to the DAW without changing the composition or the "sound" of the composition. If the Power level is used, then, as expected, the composition changes based on rules of the brain elements (i.e. sidestick instead of snare, etc.) and the actual hits sound different (i.e. a light hit on a drum vs. a hard hit).

If that doesn't help, could you provide a more specific example that I can try to reproduce?

Hi and thanks for your reply, I'm using the master volume in the mixer, the one with MST above it..at the top of the volume fader it registers 12 db, if i turn it down to register 4db which is around 3cm from the top of the fader the snare sounds as if it's coming from a room next door..big problem really, hope you can put me right my friend..thanks. also FWIW all the other drum sounds keep their dynamics so to speak...it's just the snare that loses it..

The mixer master should definitely not be causing any changes in composition or articulations so I am at a loss for that. It might require Ralph to take a look. As for the “sound” of the hits, I suppose it is possible that some compression, reverb, or both could change the sound when the level is reduced. Beyond that I don’t have much else to suggest.

Please use 'Save Song' in the JS4 song menu to send me a file of the arrangement where this happens to support[at]rayzoon.com
