Hi all, I've been using Jamstix 4 and loving it (recent upgrade from v2!). I've also managed to get DFH Superior hooked up in Cubase and getting sound. Problem is the mapping option I'm using (Superior 3) in Jamstix doesn't match up with DFHS. Is there a different mapping I can use or is there a downloadable DFHS map?
Thanks!

I don't have Superior and can't answer your question directly but I can say that I have found that the mappings can vary, even within the same drum program, from kit to kit. So, unfortunately, it may be necessary to create a custom mapping for the exact kit.
There may be an existing mapping that is close and maybe just a few have to be changed.
And maybe another user has created a mapping to share that you are looking for.

Thanks jas_lan. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Is there a tutorial anywhere that goes over how to create a custom mapping?

I am honestly not really sure but there were some pretty good Jamstix 3 tutorials (just Google it) and I don't think the mapping has really changed much if at all. It should be the same basic idea. First, make the kits look the same (i.e. same pieces in Jamstix) by either finding a kit that has the same pieces or just deleting the ones that EZ drummer doesn't have, then look in the drum program (i.e. EZ drummer) and see what notes it has assigned to each hit and articulation then tell Jamstix to send that note for those hits. Alternatively, you can also reassign the hits in the drum program to the same notes that Jamstix is sending. Either way, make sure you save the new kit! In Jamstix if you changed the notes there or in the drum sampler if you reassigned them there.

I really think it is worth learning how to do because, as I mentioned before, every kit of every drum sampler out there is probably different (except for very basic general MIDI kits). Maybe someday there will be a new MIDI standard for big drum kits with all the articulations.
