I just thought I would share some covers I made using Jamstix 4 in Cubase.

Little Wing has more Jamstix action but Cause We've Ended as Lovers is the overall better cover and video.

Cause We've Ended as Lovers

Little Wing

Stop!

I am just getting into basic video transitions, titling, motion, etc., but having some fun with it.

Great guitar playing and I really liked the sound you got with the Schecter on the first one.

Very cool, thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys!
I bought that Schecter just for that pickup configuration. It is the "Brimstone" Schecter Custom with the "Sustainiac" driver, which is turned on for the solo. The Sustainiac is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. It works really well for sustain and harmonic feedback even with the guitars volume knob turned all the way down.

Oh, and really liking Cubase 10 BTW...

And while I am at it, I wanted to mention how great Jamstix 4 is working out... Over the past few days, I went into all my old projects with Jamstix 3 in them, saved the song in Jamstix 3, added Jamstix 4, and loaded the song in Jamstix 4, and it all went very smoothly. The songs sounded basically the same. There were some where I had some compression, EQ, and reverb, happening in the DAW, which was of course gone (primarily on hard rock, heavy metal type mixes, where the Jamstix mixer just couldn't seem to add enough punch) but on those songs, I just changed the kit to one of the new Jamstix 4 kits which really seemed to come through the mix without anything additional outside of Jamstix!

Do you have any more videos of Jamstix and Cubase?
Are you updated to 10.5 pro or are you using a previous version still?
Thanks

Stop!

Here is one more I made that I was pretty happy with. I has some Jamstix and Cubase in it. I don't have Cubase 10.5 yet. I am waiting for 11 because 10.5 didn't really have much I was interested in.
Thanks for watching!

I'm not really sure! I just didn't see anything in 10.5 that I couldn't wait on.
I guess I would really like to see them continue with the window docking and rearranging/resizing capabilities. Not sure if you have Halion 6 or not but it is very nice in this respect. You can rearrange the different sections, resize, choose what is displayed there, etc. I am just a hobby type so I don't need 128 bit internal processing Shocked or 686 kHz sampling. I have seen some other ideas in the feature requests that sound interesting but not so much that I can remember any of them Rolling Eyes
Oh yeah, and this is not really an issue for me but I wouldn't mind not having the dongle, though I am not a dongle hater, I just wouldn't mind not having to deal with it.

You know, at this point, with all the piracy and cracked software, on of the reasons I bought Cubase was for the dongle’s ability to keep the software integrity. Meaning, Cubase can’t be “cracked” because of the dongle. Actually, I know they can crack the base version and artist, but I also have read/know they cannot successfully crack [10.5] Pro now, and all the cracked versions keep on crashing.

I also feel its important these days to support who you go to for your needs. In other words, if you use X product everyday, and you had/have the option to use pirated or cracked software or you can support them and buy the product, I feel its important to do that. That’s partly why I wanted to buy Jamstix Ultimate, because Ralph was good enough to offer me a lot of customer service and support, and I wanted to support his brand. So Cubase does that with the dongle, and I think it’s good, because it keeps the software secure.

I read, Cubase, being made in and for Windows, is the most powerful DAW and 10.5 pro was written in and for windows 10 x64, and I agree, I don’t need all that processing power, but I don’t mind having it either lol Wink

I agree with you about the piracy issue. I don't have or use any cracked software and I don't want to pay more for my software to cover the cost of theft so, yes, I want them to keep it secure, and if the dongle is the best way, then I don't mind it and can deal with it. If they could come up with a way that satisfies their security concerns without the dongle, I would be for it. Again, I am not a dongle hater and I actually defend it on the Cubase forum from those people who throw fits of anger over it. Mainly because it is just lame to buy software that requires a dongle and then complain about it. If you couldn't deal with it then you shouldn't have bought the software.

So, it's just a mild, "wouldn't mind not having the dongle" for me. It's not even really that high on my list buy I guess I just threw it out there because I couldn't think of other things on my wish list for Cubase. I used to want better video features but then I got a really great deal on Vegas Pro 15 (I think it was last year so it was a couple of versions old and I got it from HumbleBundle for $25!) and now I think it would be impossible to get Cubase even close to being any sort of a replacement for a full featured video editor. Anyway, I am looking forward to C11 to see what is new. I have gotten every full numbered version since 8 and started on 5 (I totally skipped version 7) I have just gotten so used to Cubase that I am very comfortable with it. I actually own Studio One and it's nice and I think could handle everything I do but I ended up not really using it, but maybe someday I will try it out some more.
I'm rambling.... Embarassed

Really nice Jason. Great intonation on your bends, excellent phrasing and nice sounding mix. I've never heard Bonamasso's version so I'll have to check it out. You're right to feel proud of it, you did a great job on this one. (Nice Guitar collection also.)

Thanks Doug!

I was watching it myself and the audio and video were a little out of sync. It must be the streaming though because the originals on my hard drive are perfectly synced.

Actually that was a huge feature, the video+audio import/export in 10.5 - apparently you can edit both together and export them as a single file.

But please, by all means, I asked because I was interested, so it’s not a ramble Wink
