Is there a way to manually add a triplet to a 4/4 time bar? Preferably without playing around with shuffle settings?
On a similar note, I tried importing a .mid clip groove containing triplets into Jamstix and it seemed to convert the triplets into quarter notes? Is this a known limitation or have I hit a bug?

The only way to do Triplets is to use the timing offsets. When importing midi make sure that "Quantize Midi Import" is off in Options>General Options.
Here's information from Ralph regarding this in an older post:

[8th triplets]
right click on notes and select 'Forced' under 'Shuffle' in the event menu.
[16th triplets]
- first note is just a normal note to start the triplet
- second note is on alternate limb on the same tick as the first but set timing mode to +1/24th (right-click bar editor menu)
- third note is back on the original limb on the next tick (16th) and must have the timing mode set to +1/48th.
Don't forget that you don't have to go through your entire drum track and do this manually. Just do a Bar or two and then copy and paste the Limb from that/those Bar(s) where you want the Triplets in your track. |

Thanks a_zimuth, I will try this.
Just to be clear, with the 8th triplets, if I right click on a single note and select "forced" under "shuffle", it will turn a single note into a triplet? |

No, for an 8th triplet highlight/select 3 consecutive notes and then right click and choose "Force Shuffle". |

| Thank you a_zimuth for your permanent support on companion users here. Although I own JS since years, I am less experienced (have a lot of time invested in mixing techniques and practicing music, letting drums less developed) and I was just looking for the way to work with triplets in a section of a song. |

A lot of what I have learned about using Jamstix came directly from helping other people in the forum to be honest. I truly do enjoy helping other users and am happy that this forum has stayed friendly for all the years I've been here. Just trying to do my part to try and keep it that way. |
