|
|
Hello. I'm using Jamstix 3. I have a project I'm working. I have chosen and drummer and a style, and got a nice groove going on. Now I want the drummer to step out and play flashy for 4 bars, and then back into the groove. I would like the drum solo to be less groove and more melodic statements, to keep tempo, maybe include a hi-hat foot keeping time throughout, and be consistent with the selected style. How do I do this?
I figure I should create a 4-bar section in the song for the solo. Is there a style I can use to get more free playing? Set each bar to fill?
Any tips appreciated. |

Hi E_J,
Create a Drum Solo song part first, it will by default be 4 bars long. In the Fill window uncheck "No Groove", change the T-Fill Type to "Groove". I would mainly focus on the Simple, Uniform & Character controls. Try setting the the Toms to Random also. Vary the Style/Drummer slider.
A Drum Solo is controlled almost exclusively by the Fill controls obviously. Unfortunately, the Fill controls are by far the most unpredictable. The results will depend a lot on loading a suitable Style and Drummer for the Drum Solo song part. |

| Thx a_z for the quick reply. I'll try it out and see what I can get. I may need to post further questions as I go along. |
