Is there a way to create our own fills that function like the built in fills? I'm in a situation where I want particular fills that are just on certain beats while the underlying rhythm stays consistent. What I'm doing now is just copying the entire rhythm to a different slot and adding the few extra hits there. It works fine, but it uses up more of my rhythm slots. It's not terrible, since this is a very simple song with a very consistent underlying beat throughout. But on a more complex number with multiple sections, I could see this as being a severe limitation. Any plans for this kind of enhancement, or have I already missed something?

Jamstix 2 next year will raise the rhythm limit and will feature additional fill tools.

Until then there isn't much you can do other than what you already described unless you want to fiddle with the RAF file format and write your own fill file(s):

Awesome. Thanks a ton for that doc. I dug in tonight and made fills for the project and putting in the fills was so much easier than copying all the rhythms and doing it that way.

One other question: is there any way to get Jamstix to recognize the new fills without restarting my host software? That would be wonderful.

Thanks a ton for an awesome drum program. This is pretty much the drum program I have been looking for since I started making music with "non-human" drum tracks. It's terrific. Absolutely terrific.

Nice one! It isn't exactly easy for most people to convert fills into RAF events...

We'll see what we can do about that...

The latest beta allows you to reload the data caches by double-clicking on the drumset icon:
