Hello friends at the JS forum,

I'm using JS4 and it appears that the power control affects parts with a player differently than parts with no player. For example, with a player, the snare goes away when the power is under 60%, but the snare is still there on parts with no player selected. Any info on this would be appreciated.

This is normal and depends on the player. For example, a player may have a "power reduction" element in the "brain". If the songs power falls below a certain point, it may switch to side stick on the snare, or if it falls lower the snare may stop altogether. Hover over the names of the brain elements and the info line should tell you what that element does. If you don't want it to, you can disable it or even delete it altogether.
Also, the color of the element tells you whether it is associated with the player or style (can't remember the colors offhand but it should be in the manual). You can even bring in brain elements from other players and styles, etc.
For example, say you really like a player but want to have some ghost hits but that player doesn't come with the ghost elements, you can add it from another player.

That happens because Auto Snare and Reduction are Player model brain elements. Without them the Snare sample volume will just decrease to minimum following the Song Power control.
