|

Hi all.
Cubase regards jamstix4.dll as 32bit and blacklists it.
jamstix 4.4.6, Cubase Elements 10.5.0 Build 68 (2019-10-14), Win10Pro x64
I have done as suggested in one post:
"Please try this:
- open JS4 manager tool
- click 'Troubleshooting' and check 'Use APS Mode'
See if that let's you remove JS4 from the blacklist.
If not, please email me
C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\Logs\Jamstix Plugin Log.txt"
But in APS Mode I get:
Exception ElnOutError in module jamstix4.exe at 8E1B74
I/O error 103.
AKAI VIP 3.1.1 says: "Failed Validation (error while loading plugin)"
Mixcraft 8.1 Recording Studio can deal with 32bit plugins but says: "Unable to Load"
UltimatePluginTool 1.1.1.0 shows it as 64bit version 4.0.0.0 from 2019-12-29 (unbelievable?!)
<http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/>
In all these error cases all 4 *Log.txt files in C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\logs have 0 (Zero) Bytes.
Only VSTHost 1.56 x64 is successful with it.
<https://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm>
In VSTHost I can use jamstix perfectly without any flaws.
Only after the success with VSTHost two log-files now are filled:
Jamstix GUI Log.txt and
Jamstix Plugin Log.txt
They only tell that everything is fine.
I did some repairs, re-installs, run it with and without "Dedicated Process/Server Mode" and some classical Voodoo-Win-reboots.
Now I'm clueless and in despair.
Please help.
Kind regards

Hi,
I would suggest using the Jamstix Manager to email support directly and copy the text from your post above and paste it into the email. |

arrrgh
my email was rejected because the receiving server didn't like the attached jamstix4.dll even though it was zipped.
I did a resend without the dll.
Hasn't been rejected in the last 5 minutes so I regard this is finally done.

When you installed Jamstix, did you install both the 64 bit and 32 bit versions? If you did, and you don't need the 32 bit versions , uncheck it in the installation. If you do need the 32 bit version (for another DAW perhaps), make sure that Cubase 10.5 does not see it in the plug-in paths.
Cubase is touchy about seeing multiple versions of the same plug-in, i.e. 64 bit and 32 bit and sometimes even VST 2.x or VST3.
Lastly, it is correct that you do not need to send Ralph the .dll file as he already has it. If you think it is corrupted then just reinstall it. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. SOLVED
When the DAW/Host (Cubase, Mixcraft, VIP) is started with admin rights then jamstix4.dll is properly recognized and can be used.
@mod:
please mark this thread as SOLVED. I don't know how. *blush*
Ralph is a hero! He does the most excellent support I have ever experienced. Super fast and professional. KUDOS
@jas_lan:
you are completely right and I am ashamed that I didn't inform in my OP that I always avoid 32bit things. I have only 64bit plugins and take care about that during every installation. And so I did during installation of jamstix and have installed only the 64bit VST.
But it's always good to ask for the basics. Thank you for this.
Avoiding multiple versions is a must.
To search for dups I recommend:
UltimatePluginTool
<http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/>
Regarding the .dll file: it had to be checked wether during the installation something went corrupt. Luckyly it was sufficient to tell Ralph the number of bytes of my .dll
To you all out there:
Happy virtual drumming and a peaceful new year.

Glad it's sorted and that we could help!
By the way, you should be able to avoid having to start as admin by adjusting the permissions for the folder 'C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4' using Windows Explorer to full access for all authenticated users. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
