Is there a simple way to reset drummer to "no player" (apart from clearing the song)

Or is the Silent drummer the same as "no player"?

Hello: the silent drummer doesn’t affect the groove, so it is what I believe you are expecting with no drummer. The groove will be just the notes that you self write, without the help from a drummer.

I'm not sure that's correct, which is why I want confirmation from Ray.

I'm not writing anything, just using the inbuilt grooves which the AI engine adds to.

As I understand it Silent adds nothing from the AI engine? Or is that wrong?
Whereas No Drummer will still have the engine adding "something"?
Or is that wrong? Does it need an actual drummer modely for the AI engine to kick in?

'No Drummer' is the initial lack of any drummer logic.

'Silent' is used in conjunction with the 'Silent' style to ensure nothing is played, not even generic fills.

You don't need an actual drummer model but then you lose feel processing etc.

If you don't want a drummer to add anything, I'd go with 'James Stix' and his 'Focused' preset.

For context I just use the no drummer as a neutral ear check to listen to the changes a drummer makes when quickly comparing drummers. Sometimes I'm flipping between a couple to decide before I dig into the specifics of their model.

It would be handy on that case just to have a No Drummer or neutral drummer style.

Ah, ok. I admit I self haven’t used silent style or drummer. I answered you just by looking on the manual:

18.2.3 SILENT
If you want full manual control over the grooves used in your song, use the ‘Silent’ style and
‘Silent’ drummer. You should also check ‘Lock Manually Created Events’ in the bar menu.
Now you can place your notes as desired in the bar editor.
Even though you are not taking advantage of the style and drummer modeling, you are still
saving a lot of time by using the bar editor, arranger and built-in limb checking.
