I am having trouble building up a song.

I want to add new parts, but when I do, I lose all my song settings for each part that I had previously created.
The number of bars per part, repeats per part, fills settings, power settings per part, etc. - all get reset.

I have tried locking all parts (under the Global settings) before I add a new part, but it does not seem to matter.

Is there some setting that I am overlooking? I am hitting CREATE SONG to add the new parts - is there something else I should be using?

To add song parts you do not use the Song Builder. To add a part in a song that you've already built, right click on a song part in the Song Sheet and use the New Part menu.
The Song Builder is strictly for the initial song structuring.
