Hi All,

Heard about this new product coming soon that would be a great versatile kit to be driven by Jamstix 4:

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mododrum/index.php?p=info

There's some audio demos in there that give you an idea of the sound quality.

A smaller foot print in terms of sample size. Price a bit steep. But sounds promising. Curious about everyone's opinion of it!

It looks interesting but not $300 worth of interesting. I'd really need to see and hear it in the real world before forming an opinion TBH.

I'm also looking forward to checking this out. It appears to have interesting real-time control, such as hit position for example. If this can be controlled via MIDI, we could integrate that into the JS groove logic.

The cymbals are samples from what was posted. Not sure if any of the tech fills in any of the gaps between the samples articulations. Here is what was posted on KVR by IK -

We will have the following articulations for the three available hi-hats:

Tight Tip

Close Tip
Half Open Tip
Open Tip

Close Shank
Half Open Shank
Open Shank

Foot Open
Foot Close

We will also feature continuous Hi-Hat aperture control via a specific key and a selectable CC will regulate the aperture.

Plus, there be a shell beating position controllable via selectable MIDI CC for snare and toms.

They sound great together, but IMO if you dont use the jamstix VST it doesn’t sound quite as full or right when I export the midi alone...that just me?
