Hello Ralph and fellow Jamstix Users,
I have been using Jamstix for years without any real issues, but now suddenly it stopped working in all my hosts except one.
I tried to load it into every program that I have which is able to load VSTs, but they either crash immediately or -like Ableton Live 10- display a message that Jamstix is not a compatible plugin (in the meantime Jamstix even disappeared completely from the plugin list in Live's browser, although the DLL is still there).
It all worked before, flawlessly. In retrospect I am pretty sure that the problem did not start after the update of Jamstix or the hosts. Windows 10 made a few updates, but nothing special, as far as I can see.
The only host that still loads Jamstix is Cubase 10. Very strange, isn't it?
Can this be something similar like described here http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8032?
Though that refers to Jamstix 4.2.2 and Manager 1.2.2 (and the latter should have solved the issue described in that thread).
Currently I have 4.2.3 Beta 3 and Manager 1.2.3 installed.
Any hint how to solve this is much appreciated.
Has anyone encoutered similar problems lately?
Greetings from Germany,
max |

| I started that topic you linked to. You didn't say if you just updated your Jamstix to v4.2.3 or not. If you did, did you verify that you have at least the 2015 version of the Microsoft Visual C++ files installed on your PC? That was my issue. I had a pre-2015 version installed, and that was ok for Jamstix 4.2.0, but when I updated to 4.2.2 I needed a newer version of those files. |

| Have you tried doing a "Repair" installation on Jamstix, (not the expansion paks) with the JS manager? |

Hey guys,
thanks for your answers. Sorry for not being clear enough: I updated to 4.2.3 beta 3, but I am quite (though not completely) sure that it worked fine at first.
I was wondering if the issue could be similar to that in the other thread, but was in doubt, because I could still use Jamstix in Cubase.
The file date of the vcruntime140.dll and msvcp140.dll in C:\Windows\System32 is Apr. 4th 2018 and in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 it's Feb. 16th 2017 (the latter seems to be a bit old, but it's not pre-2015).
I also have tried the repair function. It did not help. I got a few error messages (could have mentioned that), but was in doubt whether they were related to my problem?!
Error messages are:
[JS4_OTHER.rxp4] C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\data\midimap\Steven Slate Drums\Slate Blackbird Kit01.mdmap
[JS4_DATA_UPD_423.rxp4] C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\data\translation.ini
[JS4_Mappings-rxp4]
I am going to send the logs to support... |
