A public Beta for Jamstix 4.2.2 (PC) is now available.
Make sure 'Install Beta Versions When Available' is checked in the 'Install Options' of the manager tool.

Changes in this Beta are as follows:

    Beta 3
  • MIDI clips can now be dragged onto the bar editor to import single bars for groove, accent or fills
  • fixed downbeat notes sometimes sounding flangy (due to double triggering) when using preview or host looping

    Beta 2
  • when dragging MIDI files onto the brain, the current input mapping is used for translation
  • fixed missing composition/weights of manually inserted bars
  • fixed first notes of a section looped in the host not playing under certain circumstances
  • fixed brain muting when dragging MIDI file onto brain without groove importer present
  • fixed last 4 16th notes not composing in 9/4 and 18/8 with certain styles (i.e. LinearFunk)

    Beta 1
  • added 'Rescan Folder' to MIDI import dialog
  • fixed a problem with MIDI export missing notes under certain circumstances
  • fixed problem with menus opening behind GUI when using Cubase or Live in APS mode
  • fixed problem with sound loss when using kit sound previews under certain circumstances
  • fixed 'copy/paste style to all parts' adding suffixes to part names
  • fixed project data being ignored on recall if only Jamcussion kit is loaded and only one part exists
  • fixed a problem with stored data growth when repeatedly saving and re-loading song data manually
  • fixed GUI freeze when deleting a single bar in a part with child parts and then clicking on a child part

If you need to uninstall the Beta for some reason, do this:

1) In the manager, click INSTALL OPTIONS and UNcheck 'Install Beta versions When Available'
2) Connect and install the official version shown
3) Connect again, set the official version to 'Repair' and let it install

Nice job Ralph, all those items look to be working correctly now. One remaining issue, when inserting a new bar, the change is still not reflected in linked parts.

Got it, this will be corrected in Beta 2.

Midi export works fine now, even with drag and drop, hope this will be stable now. Thanks.

This looks like some weird High DPI interference of Studio One and Jamstix on your setup. Do you have another DAW to compare to, like REAPER?

I saw in other forum posts references to a different MS Visual C++ Run-time Library. Is that correct?

If so, can you let us know which one is required? With links?

Background: when I installed an earlier Jamstix version on this Windows 7 Home 64-bit system, the 64-bit redistributable was installed automatically but, to get the JS3 32-bit VSTi to work, I had to download and install the 32-bit edition myself.

Are you getting a missing DLL error?

I've just installed v4.2.2 and all looks good. No requests for any new MS redistributables. JS422 even loads and works fine in energyXT v1.

I did see that the line in reaper-vstplugins.ini for JS4 has changed.
