I had this in an old project and never could get it working quite right and ended up letting it go. Now, I am looking at that same old project and still can't get it to work and want to figure out why.
Here is what I am trying to do... Take a basic 4/4 and put two kicks on the very first two 1/16th notes. There are some other hits later in the bar but they don't really matter... Most of the time, the first kick of a bar is very quiet or perhaps the sample is truncated?
I have tried disabling the limb controls altogether and lowering the dynamic realism and the individual limb controls such as foot delay and burst controls trying to give the drummer an advantage but nothing seems to work. If I slow the tempo to about 65 bpm or slower, it does start to correctly play the kick velocities but I want a much higher tempo than that (it is a hard rock song). I am even using the Simon kit which has two bass drums. (maybe there is a way I am missing to actually tell the brain to use them alternatively?
The easiest way to reproduce is to create a simple project or pattern with the Jamstix Classic Style and I chose the Machine drummer so as to eliminate any changes by the drummer. Then just click the very first two kick dots on the first column (first beat, the heavy and first synco dot, i.e. two consecutive 1/16th kicks).
I have also tried in other places in the bar, for example, the second beat, and it seems to still "disregard" the velocity of one of the kicks.
Another test is to place several (5 or 6) kicks in 1/16th succession and then try different velocity settings on the kicks notes. For example, alternate hard kicks and soft kicks throughout, finishing with a hard kick. But the only kick that actually gets played hard is the last one. I should also note that the bar editor actually does show the correct velocity for the hits, they just don't actually get played with that velocity.

Any ideas? I want two hard 1/16th kicks in succession...

EDIT: I was able to use the "Min Vol" dial for the kick to force hard hits but there are other parts of the song which require softer kicks.
Still wondering about the second kick. So far, it seems it is just there for looks.

EDIT: Ok. I think I figured it out. I added a "Second Kick" brain element and sometimes the kicks get generated on the same foot but when they are on different feet it works nicely. I could (I think) just force them to separate feet and lock them.

EDIT AGAIN: And now I figured out that I don't need a second kick or the "Second Kick" brain element, I just need to put them on different feet. It still leaves me wondering why this happens though with the limb controls disabled...?

Why, are you doing a cover version of Rock Candy by Montrose? LOL

No idea why JS behaves like that. I never noticed it before but the alternate foot solution does seem to work well for it.

It doesn't affect that particular adjustment. I'll see what we can do about that.
