We tried to get some support from ProTools in developing compatibility but they did not respond _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Piotr, the VST-RTAS converter unfortunately will not convert Jamstix. There are several other complex VST plugins that I've encountered that it also will not convert. I think right now it's only able to handle simple VST plugins that are one relatively small .dll file. I mainly use ProTools as well, but was bummed to find out it won't work. It figures that Digidesign won't get back with Rayzoon... oh well I guess! |

What about using it via a sub-host like Chainer or energyXT within ProTools? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Ralph, I am not familiar with these programs... are these RTAS plugins that can run VST's inside ProTools? |

No, they are VST and they probably won't run in the RTAS adapter either but it may be worth a try. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes I've just finished reading up on both of them... interesting programs. I agree with you that they probably are a little too complex to be converted in the adapter, but I will certainly give it a try just in case.
Thanks! |

Pete, were you ever able to test using Jamstix in energyXT in ProTools? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes please let us know, as I'd love to run it in protools, as I find drawing in notes for drums a pain in da butt in Protools.

As an alternative sub host there's something called VSTHost.
Look at the Slavery Mode further down the page. My understanding is that you put Legree into Protools. Legree then talks to VSTHost which is running outside ProTools.
Legree is probably small and simple enough to be wrapped with the VST-RTAS converter.
I don't have Protools so can't try it - but Legree will certainly be less complex than Chainer or energyXT, and its all FREE!
