All of a sudden right out of the blue when I try to open Jamstix an error comes up saying 'centre does not respond'. This is in Reaper.
Anybody know why this happened or happens?
And what is the solution?

I have the same problem. I have mailed a screenshot, because the log-files and the support.zip have 0 bytes. Sad

Reaper 5.xx, Jamstix 4.2 Beta 3

Na, this ain't no fun. Sad I am really pissed.

So I get in 3 different hosts that "Error:Center has no available slots".

After going to the manager and doing a "Repair all" Jamstix works OK. Until its not working anymore, what happens after around 2 hours. I do the next repair (which lasts half an hour) and it works for another 2-3 hours.

This cant be true. Its a software. Software doesn't need - usually - be repaired every 2 hours like a Formula 1 racing car.

I am really pissed. All this since 3 days ago. Before that it worked flawlessly since I bought it, that was in December 2017.

The other guy with the same problem should post what he or you - Ralph - did to solve the problem. If there was a solution.

F***! Sad

Now it has changed to

"ERROR:Cannot communicate to core GUI ID=2"

WTF?????

I mean I paid for a working software and not for a what-happens-next-machine...

I would suggest sending an email to support@rayzoon.com with the current log files when the problem reoccurs. If "repairing" the install works for a while, there have to be log files that contain information. Ralph is getting ready to roll out the Mac private beta so response times might be slower than usual.

E_V,
I'm sorry for the frustrations! We'll get this sorted.

It sounds like you are in APS mode and the server part of Jamstix 'hangs' for some reason. Please tell me what Windows version you are running and email me these files:

C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\Installer\installer.ini
C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\Jamstix4.ini
C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\error.txt

Ah. OK. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel... Smile))

How come, that I am in APS mode?? I did not switch that on.

I have emailed the 3 files.

Hope this all clears up.

Jamstix 4 automatically detects if APS mode is required during installation. If you are running in APS mode, I recommend adding AutoWaitCloseTime=0 to your jamstix4.ini in the [General] section. This will shut down the audio server immediately when you close your project and allow you to open a new project immediately. I have one system that requires APS mode and this corrected hang issues for me.

So, for reasons still unknown everything is sorted out and works again like it is supposed to work. The behaviour of Jamstix suggested that it was in APS when it was not. A mystery. But solved. So lets pray my Jamstix-copy is not haunted.

Good day for me, for humanity, bad day for the pussygrabber, hooray!! Smile)

To the point: I came across a bit angry and demanding. I was angry and demanding. What was fallen under the buss because of my tirade was and is the fact, that I am a huuuuge Jamstix fan. (When it works... Smile ) So the more I am a fan the more I was angry because I couldnt use it.

Thats all I wanted to say. Again - I did it in an email already - I am that thankful to Ralph because he gave us this amazing piece of software. Thans, Ralph! Smile

(I am in no way affiliated or paid with and by Rayzoon and any affiliated person or sibtitution. Smile )
