I have a Cubase project with a bar offset = 4. That gives me a 4 bar lead in before the first 'proper' bar of the song, which displays as bar 1 (which seems intuitive for the way my brain works).
I want to make that bar 1 in Jamstix 4 (currently free version, with a view to upgrading from JS3). I have found my way to the options screen which seems to give me 2 likely options; Bar Offset (Actual) & Bar Offset (Visual).
From the manual:
BAR OFFSET (ACTUAL)
If you encounter a difference between the bar numbers displayed in your host and Jamstix, use this option to equalize them.
BAR OFFSET (VISUAL)
Some hosts display a different bar/beat then they are sending to Jamstix when using count-ins. If this happens, use this option to equalize them.
I've tried setting Bar Offset (Actual) = 4 but that doesn't seem to change anything.
Setting Bar Offset (Visual) = 4 changes the moving bar timeline (below the songsheet) exactly as I want; the 4 bar intro goes from -3 to 0 and the first bar of the actual song is bar 1. Happy days!
But the orange bar counter (above the songsheet) isn't co-operating. It is still showing the original bar count without the offset. What am I doing wrong? |

Yes, bar/beat display and Big Time display do not account for visual offsets. We'll have the changed in the next update. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
