Okay, I've tested the full licensed version of Jamstix, v4.04, on this laptop now, and the gui issue is the same in Tracktion 7, Waveform 8 and Waveform 9.
It works in Reaper.
I am unable to resize the Jamstix gui window, to display the whole gui, in Waveform/Tracktion. However, earlier (beta) versions of Jamstix, did work in these versions of Tracktion/Waveform.
So this seems to have broken, in the recent versions of Jamstix, from what I can tell ... I have no way to reinstall an older version of Jamstix, on this laptop, to prove this (at least, I don't know a way to do that). Happy to try, if earlier versions can be provided?
Thanks |

Please open the JS4 manager, click 'Troubleshooting', check the box 'Use APS Mode' and see if the problem is gone. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hey Ralph, first impressions are that seems to have fixed it. Thanks!
Just for info, it didn't fix it immediately. The first time I opened the gui for Jamstix, in Waveform, after selecting that option, the gui still opened in an unusual way, with a black bar along the left hand side, and some lettering behind it, but I closed the gui, and reopened it, and now looks fine
What does APS mode mean, out of curiosity?
Thanks again |

Bit more information ... you have to run Waveform / Tracktion as administrator (right click the shortcut, run as administrator) for this fix to work.
If you don't, then toggling APS doesn't help. The problem still exists.
If you do, toggling APS doesn't work the first time you open the Jamstix gui, in Waveform, it will still open and display wrong, but after you close it, and reopen it, it will open in the right window size. |

In APS mode, Jamstix runs outside of the DAW's process so Jamstix is not affected by unusual things a DAW may do/set within its process. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be resolved. I'm unsure why, or what might have changed (I can't think of anything) but currently only part of the jamstix 4 gui shows in the window in Tracktion, with APS mode turned on.
I've tried experimenting with the DPI setting in the Jamstix manager, but it didn't help.
I've also had tracktion open a window for jamstix, which is a black window, but the jamstix gui appears in the top left of my screen instead. Again, only part of the gui.
Err... help? Not sure why this worked last week, but now doesn't. I'll post a screengrab of the current issue |
