Hi Mario,
The Manager will install all of the needed data for your Paks and use the existing sounds from JS3. Ralph would have to explain the specifics for you but I can tell you firsthand that it works great. I have JS4 with all available Paks and JS3 installed on my system. |

Mario,
I apologize but this is incorrect. You still need an net connection for the Manager to run, I forgot that. Ralph is working on an offline install handler but I don't know when that is going to happen. Sorry about that. |

The only thing JS3 and JS4 can share as described by Azimuth, is the sample data, which takes by far the most of the disk space that JS3 and JS4 require. Everything else is separate. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

There is one small exception to that.
A very long time ago, there was a promotion where the Metal styles and drummers (but not the drums) were included with the AI pack. When I upgraded to JS4, these did not appear.
Fortunately I was able to copy the files from JS3 to JS4 and everything seemed to work out fine. |

I too have copied my old Jamstix3 "Players" into the Jamstix 4 folder. (I used to have Danny, Jason, Lars, Mike and Noah but it's red out now in the Metal section) |

Ralph,
When I installed the JS4 free version, I chose to install the sounds in a separate directory.
When I purchase the upgrade, is there a way to undo that decision, and have it share the JS3 samples?
As a test, I just uninstalled and re-ran the installer for the free version, and under the "Install Options" section, the option to reuse JS3 sound files is greyed out.
EDIT: I received my license key before anyone could respond, and couldn't resist trying. The option to use the JS3 sounds was enabled for the full version, and the installation went perfectly.
I'm also curious about the Metal/AI Pak drummers issue r_poncher mentioned 2 posts above this, since I purchased that same special offer. Is copying the drummer files from JS3 the correct thing to do? If so, what directory do I copy them into? |

| C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\data\players\Rock for Neil and C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\data\players\Metal for the rest. |
