I downloaded the JS4 freebie. McAfee Total Protection quarantines JS4SL32.RTXC with message that it is Suspect! (caf347e5374d). I believe I can include the file in some kind of exception list and un-quarantine it, but would like confirmation that there's no problem with file first.
thanks
Steve

Yes, it's a false positive due to the copy protection used in Jamstix. We're trying to work something out to avoid this in the future.

McAfee is a notorious product for causing all kinds of problems with set-ups and installs. I personally would recommend that you choose an alternative. If you have Windows 7 - 10 why not use the completely free Windows Defender

I agree. One of the first things I do with any new computer is uninstall the almost always included free 1 year headache called McAfee Antivirus.

Thanks for the quick response Ralph. I'll restore the file and get busy with JS4.

My experiences with McAfee have been very positive over a number of years - with the product and support from the company. This is the first problem I've had that I could attribute to McAfee. Just saying. Maybe just lucky.

cheers
Steve

So Ralph ... Turns out the software developer has to submit the file to McAfee. I'll hold fire on JS4 till you get things sorted.
cheers

Yes, we're looking into submission. However, we update that file with every Jamstix update and would rather not have to jump through McAfee's hoops over and over. Furthermore, if you upload the file to VirusTotal, it comes up clean in 23 virus engines...including McAfee!
