| Hi. I'm not clear about upgrade pricing. I own JS3, all the expansion packs and Jamcussion. Does the $49 upgrade price include upgrading all of these? Does the $49 price still apply to me? |

Hi. The $49 upgrades Jamstix 3 to Jamstix 4. Jamcussion and the packs don't "upgrade'. They will all still work just fine with Jamstix 4. So, bottom line is that you just need to do the $49 upgrade and all your stuff will be set. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. In the interest of completeness: we did actually upgrade some of the expansions for JS4 (XL, MetalPak, BonzoPak, Breakbeat, Udu-Utar) by modifying the kits they come with sound-wise to take advantage of the new mixer capabilities in JS4. But, as jas-lan said, there's no additional cost associated with it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| So just to make things even more clear: the user name and license key that I received by e-mail back in 2010 will work as valid upgrade key for V4, right? |

No. When you get the JS4 upgrade, you receive a customer key for use with the manager. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Is the upgrade pricing from JS3 available in the new year or is this a special offer for now? |

So the installer or JS4 itself knows that it's upgrading the full, paid version? I don't want to buy an upgrade just to be told "you're not eligible". I mean, since you don't issue refunds. |

| Yes, the Manager will install what you are entitled to. |

That is the normal upgrade pricing munmun, not a special price like the Holiday sale. |

We check every upgrade order. If someone buys the upgrade and does not have a Jamstix 1, 2 or 3 license on file with us, we refund the order and do not delivery the key. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hello,
let me add a few questions about the upgrade process.
Let's say I have JS3 (XL plus other expansions like Bonzo) installed and running.
I get JS4 upgrade, and as far as I understand I will have it side by side with JS3 as a different plugin - fine for me.
Questions:
1) Will I have to install all the packs again in a location different than JS3 packs, thus taking twice the disk space, to get the JS4 kit updates?
Or can I just overwrite the JS3 ones with the updated JS4 content?
2) Can I download the packs outside the manager, so that I can repeat the installation if needed without having to download everything again?
Thanks,
Mario |

Hi Mario,
1) When you install Jamstix 4, under "Install Options" in the Jamstix Manager you can "tell" Jamstix 4 to use the existing Jamstix 3 sounds so you do not have to install another sound library. So that way Jamstix 3 & 4 will both function just fine without the need for additional disk space. Jamstix 4 will install its sound data to a different folder otherwise by default.
2) When you download with the Jamstix Manager, all of the installation data is available locally on your disk so you can repair the installation without the need for downloading data. HTH |

Thanks for the prompt and useful reply!
But then, if I choose to share content between js3 and js4, how can I get js4 updates for the packs and would these work in js3 also?
