I am only posting this in case anyone runs into this.
Somehow, the "Dedicated Process Server Mode" got highlighted without my realizing it. Whenever I added a Jamstix 4 instance, the ASIO meter would peg at 100% and I got no sound at all. Once I turned off the dedicated server mode everything went back to normal.
