|

JS4 works beautifully in Win 10 Pro.
HOWEVER, when I finally installed to 64-bit Win 7 Pro a little while ago and try to run JS4 I get an error:
For the win 7 32-bit JS4 it is :
“Access violation at address 02DBA70F in module ‘js4sl32.rtxc’. Read of address 00000050.”
And for the win 7 64-bit JS4:
I get similar error except the issue is with the “js4sl64.rtxc” module obviously at different memory location and “read of address”
This PC is a triple boot system, each OS is on identical but separate HDD’s – JS3 and JS4 are installed at identical locations (i.e., paths) and configured identically under Win 7 and Win 10 (the 3rd OS is WIN XP but immaterial to this issue/discussion).
Essentially each boot drive is a mirror of the other boot drive for 95% of all applications and for large data sets each OS drive points to a 3rd , 4th , or 5th drive that they SHARE "in common" (e.g., JS 3 sound data, NI Kontak, UVI, IK,EW … sample data, etc. are on non-boot drives and “shared” by each OS).
So each OS uses same graphics card, USB hubs, sound cards, printers, MIDI interfaces, etc., but in some cases obviously with different driver versions.
JS 3 works fine in both Win7 and Win 10 and again JS4 works in Win 10, but it crashes in WIN 7?
I tired uninstalled (deleted C:\Jamstix 4 Data and C:\ProgramData\Jamstix4 and related JS4 .dlls) and reinstalled JS4 and did all this with anti-virus off
suggestions? |

I don't have any suggestions but I've had the same problem with my Win 7 64 bit system since beta 9 in the pre-release cycle that still is ongoing. I never tried the 32 bit install.
Out of curiosity, could you post your system spec e.g. mobo brand/model, ram, cpu, chipset, video card...... and anything else you want to provide? I've been wondering if it might be hardware related . |

I have a HP EliteBook Win7 64bit, i7-3610QM 2.30 GHz, AMD FirePro HD7500M Graphics Card (latest driver), 16gb memory.
I have the same issue. I also tried to execute the 32bit version of JS4 resulting with the same problem.
Hopefully, this will be resolved soon. |

Thanks bluesplayer_lgk,
Mine is a "roll your own" also but the only hardware match is the WD Blacks and only 2 of them at that, so I guess this idea was a dead end. Thanks a lot for posting the info. Pretty killer system you've got. |

It looks like we have a fix for the problem. Anyone affected, please email me this file to support[at]rayzoon.com and I'll send an edited version back that should get you up and running:

We're working on the fix as we speak. It does not affect all Win-64 users. Did you try the free version? If that one works for you, so will the full version. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Anyone with the Win64 crash issue, please run the manager and let it update you to Jamstix 4.0.2.
The first time you try to open 4.0.2 on a Win7-64 problem machine, you should see a message about a problem being detected and it will ask you to close and reopen your DAW. After that, Jamstix 4.0.2 should run.
If you still have any issues, post here or drop me an email. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I didn't want to leave others reading through here to think I was still waiting for a fix - Ralph and his merry band of elves FIXED IT
