|
|
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not (I did a search of the forums and didn't find anything) but when I'm in the Jamstix arrangement window with both Sonar and Jamstix in "stop" mode, I try to use the scroll bar to move forward in the arrangement, but it keeps sliding back to the beginning by itself and there's no way to stop it.
I've tried playing and stopping several times, but it just won't stay put.
Any help is much appreciated!

Are you trying to move the scrollbar with the left/right buttons? If so, I can confirm that it doesn't work right and we'll fix it.
However, moving the scrollbar by dragging the slider works fine as well as clicking on bar numbers. Can you confirm? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Clicking on the bar numbers will move the cursor to the right bar, but when I try to move the actual window (using the slider) and I let go of the slider it just slides back to the beginning of the arrangement.
And sometimes when it's playing, the window (bars) keep sliding continuously from the middle to the beginning (looping and sliding) |

Could you tell me the versions of your Sonar, Jamstix and Cakewalk VST adapter (or are you using DirectiXer?) _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Leee, no offense intended here, but are you sure you're in "stop" mode? Stop mode is when the icon looks like a play button, and "play" mode is when the icon looks like a stop button. It's confusing... Sorry if this is too basic, but I had a problem like that before, so I thought I'd mention it. _________________ Rock softly and carry a big stick. Wait, what am I saying? Sonar 4.0.0, Jamstix 1.3 and Cakewalk VST adapter 4.4.3
When I first open Sonar, load the song that has Jamstix in it, before I press play, I am able to scroll in the Arrangement window. But after I start playing (then stopping both Sonar and Jamstix) I get the scrolling problem.
I'm sure that Jamstix is stopped because when it's in the play mode, I get the red warning message saying it must be stopped to move the scroll bar. Then once it's stopped I can scroll but it just slides right back the beginning.
I should probably update to the latest version of Sonar (4.0.3) but I always hate to update patches when things are running well (except for this problem) and I hear horror stories from people that have updated.
I guess I'll update Sonar and see if that helps the problem, but in the meantime if anyone can think of something else, please let me know.
Thanks again! |

Don't update to Sonar 4.03 and VST 4.4.4 because of this problem alone. Let us check this out some more and we'll get back to you. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, I found an interesting solution, but I'm not sure why it does this.
To stop the Jamstix arrangement screen from scrolling, I went into Sonar's Project Options and checked then unchecked "Zero controllers when play stops".
I usually leave it unchecked because I like the cursor to remain where it is when I stop.
Anyway, that seems to be a good workaround. I hope that gives you some clues to what is going on.
Thanks,

Even though we weren't able to reproduce the behavior your reported here with Sonar 4.03/VST 4.4.4, please try the just released X5-5 beta and see if it helps things since it has modified scrollbar button code. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Okay thanks, I'll give it a try.
I'm surprised no one else has the problem. Could it just be my eyes?!?!
Edit: Where can I find the beta, I looked around but couldnt' find it? |

So far the new beta is working, it seems to have fixed the scrolling problem.
Thanks again! |
