I'm totally new to Jamstix and find it an incredible useful tool.

I wonder though where the tom sounds are coming from when in actually the toms section doesn't have any hits programmed. I assume that this is due to some randomizing parameter somewhere...

How can I keep the toms silent without muting their output channel?

Thanks,

JB

Hi JB, toms that are not in the tom panel come from the tom accents and fills. You can control the former with the 'tom accents' slider in the rhythm tab. In free jam mode, you control the fills with the 'fill frequency' slider in the jam tab and the tom accents with the 'Accentuation' slider.

Ive noticed the same problem too, and turning down the accents slider to zero doesnt always seem to stop it. On one or two songs either the toms or the snare will play a fill over one specific bar no matter what i do.
I'm gonna put this in the planns for enhancment thread and im probably not the first to mention it but it'd be nice to have a button which automaticly turns any randomization to zero so that it only plays what you've programmed (but still leaving in timing and velocity variations)

DL the latest Beta. Then: If you open your .ini file with a text editor, you can change the line "Reset To Silence = 0" to "Reset To Silence = 1". Then when you hit the Reset button in the Rhythm Tab, the accent sliders will all go to zero.

Just so you know, this means you have to hit the reset button before you start programming your rhythm, otherwise the use of that button will erase what you've already programmed for that rhythm.
