One thing that is holding me up in creating grooves in JC is the generic names of the kit pieces: Perc 1/2/3, etc.
But what are they? Even looking at the Kit page leaves me none the wiser. I could do with the names of the instruments in the kit being shown.
Hoping that it is being addressed for v4 or if not, hope it's not too late for the Beta... |

| At the top of the Jamcussion Kit page, click the Kit name and the Available Kits window opens. This will show you what is assigned to each location in the kit. Generally it follows Left to Right, Top to Bottom. |

That helps but I'm looking to see them at the button and not have to go looking. But thanks, that was useful to know. |

I'll see about adding the sound name to the info shown in the status line when you mouse over events in the bar editor. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Just noticed it already does, but not always. You get it for Instrument labels but not for Bongo.
But I think I was more getting at this: I hardly ever remember the status line, which is why I missed it; I prefer to have things line-of-sight so what I'm suggesting is that when you click an Instrument button, the pop-up list shows Conga, Bongo, ... instead of Perc 1, Perc 2, ...
In JS it's immediately clear which parts of the kit are selected (Kick, Snare, Shaker, Chimes) but that's not the case in JC and I'm finding it's getting in the way of my understanding of what this amazing plugin is getting up to...
Cheers,

As I was drifting off last night it dawned on me that JS and JC aren't doing things differently, I'd just misunderstood the modus operandi. What we see in the pop-ups is a list of slot names, which in JS correspond closely to the assigned sound but in JS don't, percussion being less predictable. (I know everybody knows this already, this was just to clarify my thoughts.)
So perhaps, instead of seeing slot names, we need to see the drum name - but perhaps just the bit up to the hyphen - it would be enough to see the word Guiro; you wouldn't need to know which one (unless you were happy with very wide lists!).
This is advantageous because you will always see the currently assigned type, rather than the intended one, so you will always know where you are - at a glance.
Thanks for reading, hope you found this as helpful as I have,
