I sometimes create grooves that focus on the snare on beat 3. Most of the time, I just program them manually. Occasionally, though, I manage to get "beat 3"-focused grooves using the auto compose feature. What determines when that gets focused on? I typically use the metal styles, and I haven't been able to figure out which combination of settings triggers it.
Thanks
Edit: I know you can always get it in halftime grooves; was wondering if there was a way to do so in non-halftimes. |

| I usually adjust snare focus by increasing the Groove Window Snare Brain control "Busy" knob and using the "Bias" slider to shift the focus earlier or later. That can almost always get me what I'm looking for. Just play around with that and you'll probably see what I mean. HTH |

You could also increase the weight of the third beat in the bar editor.
