|
|
Hello
I'm trying to use Jamstix on Mac OS with the Mainstage product to jam live. The problem is, Jamstix seems to gradually increase CPU consumption, and occasionally spikes very badly, which causes the program to choke and stop.
It's practically unusable, and ability to play live was the main reason I've bought the product to complement Apple's Drummer which can't play live.
Any suggestions? I have a 2.4GHz i7 MacBook with 16Gb of memory, and the project is running off a RAM drive. Usually this machine has plenty of horsepower. My interface is Apogee GiO.
Voice reduction is set to 20 and it is not helping.
Thanks!

| Having all kinds of grief with MainStage 3.2.2 using Jamstix plugin on El Capitan. I am on 4 Gig I7 with 16 gigs of ram machine so its quite perplexing. Is their anything that can be done from the Jamstix side to get them to play nicer together? |

| So today I pop my power strip on, turn on everything, my Imac I stays on all the time. So the Imac is alseep, my screen is dark, I hit a few keys and here drums going so I don't bother to wake the Mac up. Everything worked flawlessly, not a single dropout or crackle. So now I lower my resolution all the way down and make sure everything related is in the background and have my sleep kick in and it works like a charm. |

Hey Ralph and folks,
@tedkaz_nj, it sounds like this was related to screen resolution?
Not hijacking, but I think this is something similar to what was happening to me with latest version of JS installed on OSX El Capitan. Problems in pro tools went away when I uninstalled JS 3. I am willing to re-install and see what happens and send the log if that helps. |

| But on occassion with lower res if I have Jamstix in the foreground I will still see it overload. The killer is with other plugins I am unable to recreate the overloads. Right now it seems if I go with super low res and make sure jamstix is in the background it seems to be ok. |
