I know how to paste a bar to an entire part ... But is it possible for the whole song?
Related question is ... If I have a song created, and want to add the same stick riff to all bars, can I somehow do that?
Thanks - _________________ Alexis

If you want that part for the entire song, just delete the other parts and change the length of the part you want to copy from. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Absolute 3 VST. 418 Carrier Landings.

Thank you for answering, jas_lan!
I had just finished setting up the many parts to a song (name, bars, repeats, etc.). Then I set up a click track of sorts, with kick and bass, some minor variations between bars. All that is set up now.
I realize now I would like to add a stick sound for a few beats in each bar of the song, throughout the song.
I'm not 100% sure I do understand your suggestion ... I don't want to erase all the many parts of the song and start over ... is that the only way to do add the stick sounds to each bar besides manually adding sticks 4 times in each bar for each of the 70+ bars?
I hope not ...
Thanks again for your response! _________________ Alexis

Hi Alexis,
Check out "Add Groove To Style" on pg. 46 of the User Manual. |

Hey Alexis,
Disregard my suggestion. I just checked it out and it does not appear to work the way I remember it working. I don't know if something has changed or if I'm remembering incorrectly how it worked but it will not do what you want and will probably cause you problems. Ralph if you see this could you please look into this function as to whether it is working correctly or not? |

Alexis, can you do a 'Save Song' in the Jamstix song menu and send me the file so I can look at this? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well I went back to investigate this further and it does work but the process is far more convoluted than I recalled. The way I got it to work was as follows:
Make sure Auto-Lock All Manually Created Events is checked in the Bar Editor drop down "EDIT" menu.
1) Manually enter the pattern into however many bars it takes to enter the pattern the way you want it.
2) Clear the bar/bars you entered the pattern into with the Trashcan. The manually entered pattern is locked and will not be deleted.
3) Select the first bar that you started entering the pattern in.
4) In the Bar Editor drop down menu choose "Add Groove To Style".
5) An "Add Groove To Style" pop up appears and set it to the number of bars that the pattern you entered covers.
6) Click OK.
7) A "Groove" Importer will be added to the Brain Controls for that song part with Bar Groove already loaded. Play your song and the Song Part will regenerate with the pattern now added to the Groove. Note: the priority dial in the Groove Importer did not seem to have much effect on the added notes but I did not test this extensively.
8 ) Any OTHER song part that you would like to add that same pattern to, select that Song Part in the Song Sheet and repeat steps 4, 5 & 6.
Does this appear correct to you Ralph or is there a more efficient way to do this? |

| Thanks Keys, I really thought Add Groove To Style worked differently before but perhaps I'm mistaken then. It isn't something that i used very much, so maybe that is why. |
