| If the roll out of JS-4 goes like prior versions... I so look forward to the collaborative public beta testing. Each day new fixes and features and the ability to have input in how the new version develops. Fun Stuff Indeed. |

look good. second snare and base is great feature i whish. I read nothing about new drum sounds and maybe better reverb for drums. the current AMB reverb makes a snare sound as a laser gun. so a reverb effect or maybe a reverb impulse able to load in enhance lots and is not much work.
The GUI is larger now, and can better read, thats good too.
I hope public beta come soon, i like test and layer snare and base drums |

Just curious Ralph, do the kits are still coming with sound restrictions ?
I mean, right now in JS3.x, I can't change a snare for a shaker or a cymbal by a bass drum sound. It's always 1=>1 (snare to snare).
Can you remove the restriction to choose only "same family" piece kit ?
Changing snare to handclaps from the Flamenco MiniPack would be useful when trying to experiment a bit for example. |

When loading a sound to a kit piece, uncheck the 'Filter' box to see all available sounds in JS3. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok here is the new request then :
Since I always used right-click to change sounds, I never saw the "filter" box...
So the menu should have a new line like "Open dialog box" or "Choose any sound" and then show the dialog box with filter unchecked. (I prefer the later)
It never occurred to me to change sounds by *clicking* the full name in the right bottom interface and then uncheck "Filter" box because I never saw the dialog. |

Getting the drums tempo changed in audio jam live whereby changing the BPM in the host;mine being Ableton live 9 would be soooooooo coolio.Max for live have this beatmaster, but that's for live drums miced from the front end. What I mean is an audio input the same as the audio m8 but it doesn't just read the dynamics of;for me guitar but the tempo of my guitar too,and change the tempo in Ableton live.Anyway,it's a dream, and as Jamstix is a great dream anyway.I know it's possible _________________ EMU 1820M user |

So if we're putting in feature requests...
I'd love to see a workflow enhancement:
Would be great to be able Load up Jamstix - Set up the Song Structure in the normal way - Play through the whole song and record the MIDI hits live (say Kick and Snare) - tweak them to make sure they're correct manually and then - save all the created grooves as styles for their parts. It would then be up to the user to put whatever styles and players per part from there.
I've been hoping for this since my first day using Jamstix, back when v3 first came out...
(unless of course I've been missing something!)
Thanks for considering! |

Looking forward to the new gui and new styles/drummers.
I agree with the comment above about ambience.
As for improvements, I would like to suggest
a) A clear indication in the gui as to what keystrokes turn off either jamstix or jamcussion. I keep forgetting.
b) Some slight improvements to the wizard in the form of some more part types. Z for cymbal rage for example. More useful for me would be the ability to have two types of chorus and verse in the wizard. Chorus A and Chorus B for example. Some of my songs have choruses of both 8 and 10 bars in length and so the common divisor is 2, which is a bit short for repetition fills. Just a minor workflow thing. |

Great. The two most important improvements to me would be:
1. More predictable and usable fills.
2. Improved "pocket" behavior, so that setting the pocket ahead or behind the beat does not shift the entire bar (unless that's what you want), but instead affects the relative timing of hits within the bar.
Hope those are on the list. |

| Great suggestions Robus_1! More usable fills would really come in handy. Keep it up Ralph! |
