Hi- I've been reading about Room mics and Overhead mics in drum setups, and was wondering how the Jamstix Ambience channel (#8 on the mixer, iirc) related to those, if at all.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Alexis, "Ambience" would be your room mics and "Cymbals" would be your OH's. The cymbals are close mic'd so it's not true OH's.

Thank you, a_zimuth!

Obviously, I don't know a lot about this. I've read lots about how helpful it is to use overheads with drums. I suppose if there are no OH mics recorded, there's no way, or need to in JS's case, to fake them, right?

By mixing the close mic signal with the ambience signal I can get close enough for anything I've ever needed to do.
