|

Using Reaper I've a song using an electronic kit but around half-way through I want to do to a,"Normal" kit.
I duplicated the drum tracks and then made the 2nd Drum silent for 54 bars to the point where I wanted to change kits and was gong to use the 2nd Drum track to bring in the mew kit but....
It wiped put the Track one electronic kit and made silence on the main 1st track as well?
So any info on just changing drum-kits in a track in Reaper would be great |

| Could you output the MIDI on your electronic drum track then remove Jamstix on that track and place it on the other track with the normal drumkit of your choice. Then you can output audio from this drum track when you are happy with it (output the MIDI here as well). Then remove this Jamstix insertion and go back to the electronic kit track and put Jamstix on that and then output the audio from that one. A bit fiddly but should work. |

Thanks for the reply but what I want to do is just change Jamstix kits halfway through the song from an Electronic kit to say a Rock kit.I think it should be easy but I'm overlooking something methinks |

| You may use another instance of Jamstix for the second track. Load Rock kit to it. Then configure Silence parts for both instances the way you need. |

Using Reaper you could also manage the silencing of a double instance of JS as a Reaper automation.
So in the end you would have exactly the same track twice but different drum kit and then use automation for track #1 Electronic kit to be silent while the other kit take its turn and vice versa.
Do I make sense ? |

| Thanks for the replies.I will see what I can do but as per first post I tried a second track and making all the parts silent and it wiped out all the parts on the first instance of JS as well but that could have been,"Pilot Error". |

If you're just using automation, you don't have to wipe anything in JS...
Keep us informed, I'm curious how it will end. |
