I agree that it doesn't need much more functionality, although the Percussion could do with some more settings and sounds. I agree that the big opportunity for improvement is all about GUI and usability.
Logic Drummers have set the bar high and I find myself using them all the time, we need to learn lessons from that and make the awesome power of JS3/4 easier to access! |

I get the terrible feeling that it ain't happening anytime soon, unfortunately. I was hoping Ralph might have something ready to show-off at Winter NAMM in Jan, but not a chance, IMHO.
Ralph - you don't OWE us anything as far as detailed explanations, I just want to make clear that I acknowledge that. But with that said, we, your loyal supporters and absolute biggest fans of Jamstix, would humbly beg that you humor us. Anything more detailed than "The problem is on our end and I'm sorry for the delays with JS4. Be assured we're working on it!" would be SO greatly appreciated.
I say all this with peace and love sir. Can you please give us a little bit of the truth of what is going on? |

Just could not wait for a usable drum machine...
As I did not manage to work with the demo of js3 (my fault, too stupid), I just bought ezdrummer...
Has definetly some drawbacks, compared to what I think js is supposed to work (eg. you need to buy thousand of midi files to use the tap2find function and cannot use your existing ones) but at least I have something a bit more usable than before...
Still I hope, js4 will come soon... Will definitely try the demo again... And I am still willing to spend some money on it, if it can do without the drawbacks of ez...
If I got it right, js4 was announced to hit the store way before a year ago... It still seems to be a bit in the planning phase... I hoped, we would be able to see something for Christmas or namm, but have serious doubts. Might be something like the bassist... Long announced, but never ready.
I feel a bit sorry for the company, as the guys there seem to be educated, cool, they have the balls to found s company,... and at the end of the day, they fail to concentrate on the right things, make a decent project plan and follow it... I saw some great ideas dying with their company, because of that...
It's just not the style of these cool guys, to stick to some basic rules, as they always want the best for their product and their costumers... I love this way of thinking.. But it's not always the best.
Ralph: if you need a project manager... Call me... |

I'm on a worse situation than you, after I tried the demo, I decided to buy js3, and the full version have a lot of issues in OSX that I didn't knew from demoing because the demo is very limited. so I reported the issues like 11 months ago and since then there haven't been released any fix for js3 at all, so I'm here waiting for something that can helpme using the non resealable investment I made with this software |

I did not see there was an update for ezdrummer... Now it supports also own midi files.
Usable so far... |

Sheesh, a week later and no response at all from Ralph to THIS post, but a response to another one in the thread?
The silence is unfortunately deafening, and to me confirms my fears.
JS4 has literally been my absolute most anticipated plugin for the last 2 years. I don't know if Ralph has abandoned it completely, or is just dedicating his time to other endeavors, but I can't see how any of us can be expected to believe any longer that JS4 in any form actually exists.
Ralph, you're a stand-up guy in this industry, and you've always been amazing at supporting your product. Jamstix was one of the greatest innovations in virtual drumming I've ever used. Whatever it is you're doing these days, I wish you sincere luck on it. I can't get my hopes up for JS4 any longer. |

I can assure you that we will release more specific information on Jamstix 4 this month. It exists, it is in the works, and we're more than appreciative of your support and patience. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph
Just to let you now that there are a lot of people waiting with patience for Js4.
We do not post very often - just get on with using an incredible piece of software.
I follow this forum every day and whilst the majority of posts are very positive it appears that there are some who are impatient and don't realise ( are not prepared to put some effort into it) the potential that this software has to offer the non drummer.
Suffice to say that we wait in anticipation for JS 4 ( although JS 3 is fine by me ) and Jambass..
Keep up the good work and (don't let the bastards ( whiners) grind you down.
Best wishes
Phil |
