Hi,

Is it possible to trigger parts live with Jamstix?

like a regular drum machine only with the "brain" active.

For example trigger from verse to chorus, and next to an ending without having to pre-program how many bars to play in each section.

looking forward to your response Smile

Yes, download the manual and read the section about Liveloops.

I believe that is what you are looking for.

thanks..!

When I use Liveloops and play a 4bar part it always repeats it the exact same way. Is it possible to change settings so it plays slightly different from time to time.. Guess thats the main reason for using Jamstix. Cool

and why why WHY won't the snare play on the second beat in the forst verse in the "disco - james Stix" .. "transition time from snare center" ???

Im trying to learn this and hoping it can spice up my sequenced live pianobar performance..

Thanks again for all the help guys!

In Normal Jam mode, JS won't change the pattern unless you change one of the brain elements. You could assign one of these to a midi controller and work that way, BUT, even better is to use live looping in conjunction with Midi Jam or Audio Jam mode. That way, JS will react to not not only the part type, like verse or chorus, but also to the dynamics of your playing.
And yes, this variation is what makes JS great!

It plays fine for me. Look in your Accent and Fill windows and see if there is a phantom snare hit there.

It's also possible, I suppose, that a tempo that is too high will make it impossible to play two consecutive snare hits. That's the basis for the message you see about "time from snare center". If a real drummer can't play it, neither can Jamstix. If you recompose the bar (including accent) does it always give the same message?

If you get transition time drops in Jamstix, you can adjust the limb speed in the Jamstix options to make the drummer 'faster' so the drops don't happen at high BPMs.
